Ja hoor, ik ben er nog!

't was stil hier op het blog, maar ik zat gelukkig in de tussentijd helemaal niet stil! Heel wat leuke dingetjes gemaakt, en ook wat nieuwe dingen uitgeprobeerd op de borduurmachine. Een kleine impressie (sorry voor de slechte kwaliteit van sommige foto's, het daglicht wil niet altijd meewerken):

It was quiet, on this blog, but in the meantime I didn't sit still. I made some nice things and tried out some new designs on my stitching machine. A small impression (sorry for the bad picture quality, daylight is not working with me these days).

En nummer 12...

Blok nummer 12 is ook klaar. Vrijdagavond de stukjes gesneden, en telkens als ik even tijd tussendoor had in het weekend pakte ik het erbij, net heb ik de laatste steekjes gezet. Een erg leuk blok om te maken met een mooi resultaat, ik vind de donkere kleuren erin erg mooi. Hoewel ik in totaal 12 van deze sterrenblokken moet maken, en dit dus de laatste in de rij is, ben ik nog lang niet klaar, ik maak ze namelijk niet in de juiste volgorde. Op naar het volgende blok dus maar!


Block #12 is finished too. On Friday I cut all the pieces, and when I had time in the weekend, I took it to do a few stitches, and I just finished it. It was fun to make and I like the result, I think the dark colors are just beautiful. Although this is 1 of the 12 star blocks I have to make for this quilt, I am not finished at all, as I am not making them in the right order. So, on to the next one it is!

Blok 10!

't was een moeilijke deze keer, fout op fout leek ik te maken, er kwam dus een heleboel uithalen aan te pas. Maar gisteravond, tijdens de quiltbee, was hij dan ineens toch af: blok nummer 10 van de Designer Mystery BOM 2009! Op naar het volgende blok, dat is een heerlijk klusje om in de tuin te doen dit weekend, want het is nu al prachtig weer!


It was not too easy, this block, for me that is. I seemed to be making mistake after mistake. But yesterday evening I went to my quilting bee and then it was finished, just like that!!! On to the next block, which seems a perfect job to be doing in the garden this weekend, as summer finally seems to be here!

Mystery of the Month block #3

Eindelijk heb ik een blok af van de Designer Mystery Block of the Month club! Ik had al eerder blok 1 af, maar dat was op de naaimachine gedaan en dan lukt het toch niet zo netjes om de hoekjes mooi scherp te krijgen. Ik was er dus niet tevreden over, en heb besloten de blokken maar met de hand te gaan maken. Dat is een heerlijk werkje, en zo kwam het dat ik van het weekend blok 3 af had! Blok 4 is al een aardig eind onderweg ook.


Finally I finished a block of the Designer Myster Block of the Month club! Earlier I finished block #1, but I did the sewing by machine and it is much more difficult to get those sharp corners then. I wasn't satisfied with the result, and thus decided to make the blocks by hand. It is such a relaxing job, and so I finished block #3 this weekend, and block #4 is well on its way too!

Designer Mystery Block of the Month quilt

Vandaag heb ik de eerste zending ontvangen van de Designer Mystery Block of the Month van de Fat Quarter Shop. Dit is het pakket om uiteindelijk alle blokken mee aan elkaar te zetten. Ik hoop het pakketje voor het eerste blok ook deze week te ontvangen. Ik vind de kleuren prachtig, en wil deze quilt maken voor op ons bed.



Today I received my first shipment of the Designer Mystery Block of the Month quilt from The Fat Quarter Shop. This is the finishing kit, I hope to receive the kit for block 1 also this week. I really like the colors, and I want to make the quilt for our bed.
